Ava Della Pietra was born on Long Island in New York. She showed early enthusiasm and interest in music and the performing arts. Her first public performance was at the Performing Arts Studio in Port Jefferson, New York at the age of 4. Subsequently, she performed at the Performing Arts Studio as well as in summer productions of BEAUTY & THE BEASTand THE PAJAMA GAME at Productions Over the Rainbow. In 2011, she was the only solo vocalist at the Greater Washington Suzuki Institute’s final concert.
Ava is currently appearing in Broadway's SCHOOL OF ROCK where she made her Broadway debut. She appears as understudy for the role of Katie (bass player) as well as swing for six of the seven girl tracks in the show! She is loving every minute of it! This new musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber is getting great reviews and Ava hopes you'll come see her in the show!
In January 2016, inspired by the immense talent of Andrew Lloyd Webber and the creative team at SCHOOL OF ROCK, Ava debuted her original song FLY at The Laurie Beechman Theatre in New York City and received rave reviews. This is the first of ten original songs to reach completion. Ava 's recording of FLY is available for you to hear now! Ava spent the 2014 -2015 holiday season traveling with the National Tour Company of Irving Berlin's WHITE CHRISTMAS. She played the role of Susan Waverly in this multi-city tour. In 2013, Ava joined the 25th Anniversary Tour of LES MISERABLES playing the roles of Little Cosette and Young Eponine. With the tour she traveled the US and Canada bringing the new version of this iconic show to thousands. Learn more about the tour here.
Ava was part of a Broadway lineup that performed for the World Science Festival Gala at "Jazz at Lincoln Center". Ava sang "Naughty" from the hit Broadway musical MATILDA and was featured in a skit with actor Alan Alda. Ava can often be seen lending her voice to social causes by performing at benefits in the New York area. Ava played first chair in her senior orchestra and had the fun and wonderful opportunity to play Gavroche in a Long Island production of LES MISERABLES.
